Tweak by Nic Sheff

So I read a lot of books about people and their problems with drug use. Or at least those types of books tend to find their way into my hands. I'm not sure how. I'm a fantasy adventure sort of girl but I can't resist a good hard-slap-in-the-face realistic fiction book.

This paticular book, Tweak...was painful. In a good way. The character, Nic, was real (which is good considering it was based off the authors life), his see-sawing through his addiction was incredibly frustrating and many a times I found myself shutting the book in exasperation. Yet, I always opened it back up because I NEEDED to know how it ended.

If you like the Ellen Hopkins books and Go Ask Alice then you'll like this AND will get the other genders prospective.

The book was easy to read and casual but not in a trying to be hip way, it read as if someone was TELLING you the story. It was a good choice, in my opnion.

"Isn't that the greatest gift in the world-just not to care?"

"As long as you look for someone else to validate who you are by seeking their approval, you are setting yourself up for disaster. You have to be whole and complete in yourself. No one can give you that. You have to know who you are - what others say is irrelevant."

My current desktop to celebrate HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE.
So freakin' excited.

Paramore

So, this past week I've been spending it with my bestie Kathy and her friends.
She has this really talented friend who did all our makeup.
With me he went really drag queen-ish and said
"I'm sorry if I've made you look like a tranny."...sooo...

I don't have pictures of the rest of my friends makeup but I'll post as soon as I do.

I'd never worn fake eyelashes before, so my eyes kept going all wonky, haha.

Here is a picture of Kathy's makeup but it just does NOT do it justice.

SKINS: EFFY PICSPAM

My favorite character remains Cassie & Sid but Effy is undeniably gorgey. SKINS is quickly becoming an obsession of mine.

Caps from here

I'll still try and come back and update as much as possible here but I'm always updating my Tumblr. So click the image below and FOLLOW me :D

Paris Je T'aime

I finally sat down and watched it. I wasn't disappointed at all. It was a lovely compilation of films.
I'm going to share with you my two favorite parts of the film.

1. Quartier de la Madeleine

WATCH IT!!

Why?: First off, vampires pwn but also because it's such an anomaly within the film that when you finally get to it it's just even that more entertaining. Young backpacker falls in love with french vampiress...what's not to love? Also, ELIJAH WOOD!!!

2. Le Marais

WATCH IT!!!

Why?: Gaspard Ulliel, he is amazing, completely magical. Also, the story itself is quite lovely. Can you imagine? Someone (who is incredibly beautiful) just coming up to you and speaking in a language you don't know and all you can do is stare at them and all the while they're telling you that they think you are their soul-mate? Also, it was the only piece of the film that featured a romance that wasn't heterosexual.

Honorable Mention: Tour Eiffel

Why?: It's just so visually pleasing.

I'll probably do a picspam later on. :D
